Located in Liverpool, this project showcases our expertise in artificial grass installation. We started by removing the existing turf and levelling the ground to create a solid, even surface. A professional-grade weed membrane was laid, followed by a compacted sub-base to ensure long-term stability.
The artificial grass was carefully fitted to give a natural, seamless finish across the entire garden. We paid close attention to the edges and joins to make sure everything looked clean and professional. Ground Preparation in Detail
Proper groundwork is essential for artificial grass to perform well over many years. Our team removed the old natural turf, exposing the underlying soil. The ground was then levelled carefully to ensure water would drain away properly and the final grass surface would feel comfortable and stable. We installed a geotextile weed membrane across the entire area, which prevents soil and weeds from working their way up through the grass whilst allowing drainage to flow freely downward.
Sub-base Installation
On top of the membrane, we laid a compacted Type 1 sub-base material—a mix of crushed stone and dust that creates a solid, load-bearing layer. This was rolled and compacted thoroughly to eliminate any soft spots. A final layer of kiln-dried sand was applied and carefully raked level, creating a smooth bedding surface for the grass.
Installation and Finishing
The artificial grass was then unrolled, positioned, and carefully fitted to the garden's shape. Joins between grass sections were sealed with joining tape and adhesive to create a seamless appearance. The perimeter edges were fixed securely and finished neatly, giving the garden a professional, bespoke look. Throughout the project, Rob maintained regular contact with the homeowner, ensuring transparency and quality at every stage.
